It's difficult to stay focused, and for some of us at least, difficult to narrow that field down to one mentor or one arena. If we are the type of person who can turn off the naysayers, we are probably pretty independent. As such it can be hard to pick and choose someone to lead us. In my experience, it makes a lot of sense to focus. I say so, because I have resisted doing so all my life. Finding and following a mentor IS a solid strategy. And narrowing one's focus and going deep rather than broad is another. Now if only I could follow that advice.

LOL - you're off to a great start online, Earl, so I have to say you've been doing a pretty decent job of this year! Keep it up! -DC.

Yes Doug, I believe there are many roads to the top and paths that you can follow to become a successful marketer. It is tough to stay focused when there are so many great proven systems around. Those daily emails all show different roads.

I agree agree with your solution, as always, one the best.

Trying sticking to it...

Thank you mentor!

As one of my top mentoring students, Fred, I can vouch for how well you're doing and how much focused, concentrated effort you put in regularly. Keep up the great work! -DC.

Excellent advice as always. There are any number of methods that work when followed. I think most of us would agree that Mercedes, Lexus and BMW are all quality automobiles but if you tried to make a car with pieces from all 3 in a mixed and match process I doubt you would end up with a viable car but when put together individually they all work well.

Excellent example, Mike - thanks for helping to illustrate my point! -DC.

Great advice Doug for so many affiliate marketers, beginners and advanced. There is actually a lot of good advice out there from experienced marketers, but like you said, we need to make sure to stay on one path and not get side-tracked. There are many ways to make a living online, but you can't do all of them at once.

Doug Champigny says...

You know from your own experience, Joel - even at our advanced level there's always more we could do, always other traffic strategies we could try, other ways to build a list, new niches to tap, etc. etc. So if at our level of expertise and professionalism we can't get to it all, think of how easily a newbie or intermediate affiliate marketer could get bogged down trying to take even two paths at once... -DC.
